The age .ravg ,of these was from ´S years to 25 years old, except the two cases,, one was 4 years old and one 45 years old.
The past and family history as well as the backgrounds of the subjects were obtained mostly through their parents or relatives and teachers. Medical examination of each case was carried out in usual,. way. The results-are as =follows:
Postnatal deaf cases were prevalent .(56.81 %)than the cases due to- various congenital factors. (12.09 % )
In congenital cases, the indirect heraditary occurrence was more frequent (2.19 n of the total) than-the direct one. (0.21 %)
´he early-marriage does not seem to be responsible as the cause of the ;congenital deafness in Korea. As the cpostnatal etiological factors, we obtained different results with those reported in foreign countries.
